Pacific-Gulf Marine, Inc. (“PGM”) is a full service
ship operating and management company that charters, operates and
maintains safe, seaworthy, mission capable vessels in a cost effective
manner. An independent & privately held company, PGM is certified
to the International Safety Management (ISM) Code and the International
Standards Organization (ISO) 9001:2000 & 14001 Standards.
Although the company has at times taken ownership
positions, the principal business of the company involves the
operation and management of ocean-going vessels. From its inception, PGM has served
many clients in the United States and overseas, representing the
interests of both Charterers and Owners. Dedicated to providing
superior technical, operational, and administrative services to
its principals, the company has gained global recognition for its
competence and reliability through strict adherence to the highest
professional standards.
The organization’s management and staff
have been recruited not only for proven competence in their respective
disciplines, but also for their integrity, professionalism, cooperative
spirit and dedication to the marine industry. The resultant organization
is action-oriented, with particular emphasis on the ability to
identify and react quickly and positively to change, both internally
and externally.
PGM’s management philosophy encourages innovation
and the aggressive pursuit of improvements in shipboard productivity
and efficiency without compromise to vessel safety or asset preservation. In
close cooperation with U.S. authorities, classification societies,
and organized labor, Pacific-Gulf Marine has pioneered a number
of significant advancements within the U.S. maritime industry. Among
these accomplishments is the certification and operation of the
first U.S.-flag vessel approved by ABS and USCG for periodically
unattended engine room operation (ACCU); development and implementation
of shipboard/shoreside integrated computer management systems;
efficiency and productivity studies resulting in successful operations
at reduced manning levels including the approval to operate the
first U.S. flag vessel under the maintenance department concept
(all purpose crew).
In addition to performing the many functions involved with the
operation and management of ocean-going vessels, the company is
active in competitive ship brokerage and chartering with movements
covering spot charters to multi-year contracts.
